On the basis that a “build” is something which has been built and not flown yet, two Carboard Krispies. OK, the red one has flown but I bought another because there were things I wanted to change. Originally intended to give it a bigger motor but instead went for weight saving by not having glass weave and parcel tape. There is a significant difference.
Following on from my foray into making a flying wing I am now embarking on building a glider
The chair of my Northern club has worked part time in a model shop. That meant he was often sorely tempted. Every so often he has a “jumble sale” and at the last one I bought a power glider and a kit. The kit is the SAS Apache and I have decided to build it at last.
Fuselage is fibre glass. Wings are foam cores and veneer. Leading and trailing edges had to be glued on and spent a long time today sanding them to shape. Wing halves need joining then I’ll cover with film.
The kit intends one servo for elevator and one for ailerons. I dont like one servo for both ailerons so have bought two slim aileron servos and will then get flaperons.
Apache wing halves glued. Holes cut for aileron servos. Some carbon fibre let into wing to try to add some strength.
